KOZHIKODE: Sports Minister K B Ganesh Kumar on Friday directed the Kozhikode District Cricket Association (KDCA) to lodge an official complaint regarding the financial irregularities in the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA).This follows an Express report that the KDCA was in possession of documents showing that the KCA had given lakhs of rupees to political parties. The documents reveal that `3 lakh had been transferred from a KCA account to an account in the name of ‘Secretary, Communist Party’.Reacting to the news, the Sports Minister said he had directed district officials to send him the documents. “KDCA officials had approached me saying that they had proof of money transfer by the KCA to political parties, but they did not show me the evidence. I told them to file an official complaint along with the proof,” he said. He said he had only seen newspaper reports on the issue. “I am yet to receive any conclusive evidence regarding this and when I do get it, I will study it and act accordingly,” he said.KDCA sources said they would file a complaint to the Sports Minister with the requisite proof. KCA secretary T C Mathew declined to comment over the matter until he had studied it fully.
