HYDERABAD: A computer operator of a private firm was nabbed on Monday, for collecting money in the name of running an AP Online franchise and accepting e-challans issued by traffic police.On information, Task Force sleuths raided Fame Consultancy, running from Moosarambagh and nabbed its computer operator Mohd Fayaz, a resident of Owaisinagar. Police said the consultancy was run by Mohd Hameed Shareef of Gaddiannaram, who is absconding. Fayaz has been working in the consultancy since the past two years, police said.Additional deputy commissioner of police (Task Force), K Raghuram Reddy said though Hameed did not have a franchise of APOnline, he had been collecting penal amount from violators in name of Mumtaz Ahmed Khan Communications. "Hameed is collecting amount from traffic violators and issuing hand-written receipts instead of a computer generated slip. The amount is not being remitted to the traffic wing and the accused had so far collected more than `1.75 lakh from violators," Raghuram Reddy said. Apart from the fraud, Hameed was also preparing false registration documents and notary by using government stamps, police said.Police recovered 2,000 empty APOnline receipts, a computer, printer and 55 rubber stamps of various government officials. Fayaz was handed over to Malakpet police for further action.
