BANGALORE: The arrival and departure of several trains on Mysore-Bangalore section of South Western Railway were affected for more than one hour on Friday following the breakdown of a diesel locomotive near Nayandahalli.Senior Division Commercial manager of South Western Railway, Mysore Division, Dr Anup Dayanand Sadhu told Express that the diesel locomotive of Train No 231 Mysore-Bangalore passenger train broke down at Nayandahalli Railway Station. The Bangalore-bound Chamundi Express train was delayed for more than an hour.Later, the line was opened for traffic. The engine broke down at around 9 am. Passengers coming down  to Bangalore faced hardship in reaching their work places. Many of them got down at the Nayandahalli station and took city buses and autorickshaws.When contacted, senior officials of Bangalore Division of SWR said, “We have no information about how many trains were affected due to the breakdown of the diesel locomotive.”
