Indore: A New Delhi-bound GoAir flight with 140 passengers on board had a close shave here on Saturday after it suffered a bird hit at Devi Ahiliyabai Airport, Director Vivek Upadhaya said.

'The G8 225 GoAir flight landed in an emergency situation, minutes after it took off from the airport on Saturday morning. No one was injured in the incident,' he said.

Airport engineers found a technical snag in the plane after which the flight was cancelled, Upadhaya said. Technicians from Mumbai were called to examine whether the flight can resume.

The stranded passengers of the GoAir plane created a furore demanding an alternative hop at the airport after which 92 passengers were flown to their destination by others airlines, sources said.

This is the second bird-hit incident in about a month at Indore airport.

On June 16, an Air India flight with 146 people on board also suffered a bird hit.
