Sydney: When it comes to stress, it seems that heading to the local pub for a beer is the best stress-buster for most people in the land Down Under.
The findings are part of a Consumer Report research carried out over a period of one month by Sensis, which found that while most Aussies are happy people, they were also getting more stressed out by the day.
The research found that while one of the most common causes of stress was having to take on more in the workplace, one of the most common ways of dealing was that stress was going straight to the pub, especially for men.
Another popular remedy for beating stress was going for a walk, followed by a talk with your partner.
As for happy, well it seems that for most Australians, money is not the criteria for a happier life.
Christena Singh, the report's author, said that while the general opinion among people around the world was that money will make them happy, only two out of 10 Australians feel that way.
"We are happy but we are getting more stressed. One of the interesting things to look at is the reasons and with income people always think that 'money will make you happy,'" the Courier Mail quoted her, as saying.
"But only two out of 10 people said a financial reason for being happier. The main reason given for being happier was that life was going well in general," she added.
