THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A group of 151 Hindus from Pakistan came to India with a one-month tourist visa in September 2011. Rahul Riji Nair’s 30-minute documentary ‘Human Boundaries’ sketches the plight of these people while they were facing deportation as their visa period had expired. The film, shot in real-life situations, takes a close look at the sufferings of the group members, including women and children, sheltered in a camp on the outskirts of New Delhi. The film was shot in three days within the limitations of a refugee camp using minimal equipment. In the film, the difficulties they suffered in Pakistan, their life inside the camp and their hopes are traced. Meanwhile, the film also mentions the effort of various organisations who work to implement basic human rights for these people at political and judicial levels. In a short span of time, the film was screened in various parts of the country. It also won an award in the documentary section of a film festival in Kolkata. The film is the maiden venture of its kind by Rahul, employed at NeST Technologies as a business analyst. The film will be screened at Harmony Convention Centre at Mascot Hotel on Friday at 3.30 pm.
