Doctors' strike: High Court directs government to transfer SHO
Allahabad High Court on Wednesday directed the UP Government to transfer the SHO of Swaroop Nagar police station in Kanpur where striking doctors were beaten up by police.

Allahabad High Court on Wednesday directed the UP Government to transfer the SHO of Swaroop Nagar police station in Kanpur where striking doctors were beaten up by police.

The Lucknow bench of the court also directed SSP Kanpur and the principal of GSVC medical college to appear before it on March 14.

A division bench comprising Justices Imtiyaz Murtaza and D K Upadhyay, passed the order on a PIL over the junior doctors' strike.

The court has fixed March 14 as the next date of hearing the matter.

The six-day-long strike adversely hit medical services in several parts of the state until Allahabad High Court and the Chief Minister intervened.

The medicos were protesting after their colleagues at GSVC medical college were allegedly beaten up by Kanpur police and supporters of SP MLA Irfan Solanki on February 28 following an altercation with him.
