HYDERABAD: Minister Danam Nagender and his associates allegedly thrashed a motorcyclist alleging that he was among a group who threw eggs on his vehicle when he visited Addagutta to attend a private function on Sunday.Following the incident, Telangana activists staged a protest in front of the Tukaram Gate police station demanding action against the minister.A case under SC/ST (prevention of atrocities) Act was registered against Nagender based on a complaint lodged by the injured.The unsavoury incident occurred when Nagender and his associates went to Addagutta to inaugurate a private clinic. As he reached the place, a group of Telangana Rashtra Samithi activists descened on the scene and demanded the minister’s stance on separate Telangana. They threw eggs which fell on his vehicle. As infuriated Nagender and his men emerged out of their vehicles, the Telangana activists took to their heel. Two persons, said to be part of the group of protestors, started their two-wheeler to leave the place.As Nagender’s associates rushed towards them, one of the duo, Narasimha Yadav, managed to run away but the other, Sravan Kumar, was caught by the minister’s men who thrashed him and damaged his motorcycle. Yet, Sravan managed to free himself and fled into a nearby house. Meanwhile, police came to his rescue. Nagender’s associates barged into the house, and kicked and punched Sravan. Local TRS activists reached Tukaram Gate police station and staged a protest alleging police were refusing to register a case against the minister for attacking Sravan, a Scheduled Caste member.In the night, police registered a case under the SC/ST Act against Nagender and his associates
