New Delhi: Himesh Reshammiya's singing career was at its zenith in the year 2007 when he decided to become a hero. 'Aap Ka Suroor' released soon after this decision but somehow Himesh failed to hit the jackpot. His next film 'Karzzzz' also met with the same fate but the zeal inside Himesh's heart just refused to mellow down.

'Radio' came as a fresh lease of life for the actor Himesh. The film did not do well at the box office but received critical appreciation for its emotion filled storyline. 'Kajraare' became the victim of an internal crew battle and swallowed whatever reputation Himesh had earned in 'Radio'.

Reshammiya has again come up with 'Damadamm' which is scheduled to hit the screens one day after Shah Rukh Khan's 'RA.One'. One should give Himesh the credit for not dragging feet at the last moment even after seeing RA.One's mammoth promotional drive.

The makers of 'Damadamm' seem to be confident about the basic plot which revolves around Sameer, of course Himesh Reshammiya, who is tired of his nagging girlfriend Shikha, played by Purbi Joshi. Sameer wants a little privacy and space in life but Shikha simply has to know everything about Sameer's life.

One day Shikha goes to a family wedding and Sameer rediscovers his long lost independence. He starts to enjoy this new found freedom in every possible way. Sameer's idea of having fun leads him to drinking, dancing and flirting. Sameer meets his boss' sister Sonal Sehgal during one of these fun sessions.

Sameer likes Sonal within a flash but is afraid of Shikha who is about to return. The release of 'Damadamm' will tell about the proceedings after Shikha's return.

Himesh has claimed in interviews that 'Damadamm' will establish him as an actor. The film is banking mostly upon the comic situations with Himesh and two ladies in the middle. Sonal Sehgal has gone up to the extent of comparing the comedy of 'Damadamm' with some of Hrishikesh Mukherjee's films.

Himesh has once again lived up to the expectations in the music department. 'Umrao Jaan' is already a chartbuster and other songs are also trending well but the film's chief problem is Shah Rukh Khan's 'RA.One' which is releasing on Diwali.

However, the festive season can drive youths to 'Damadamm', which promises to have the issues of young generation as the core subject.
