HYDERABAD: The eager beavers of police allegedly violated protocol while trying to to impress their top cop during traffic regulation during Independence Day celebrations on Monday. They stopped the convoy of Assembly speaker N Manohar and Legislative Council chairman A Chakrapani to make way for director-general of police V Dinesh Reddy near the Parade Grounds.According to sources, Manohar, Chakrapani and Assembly deputy speaker M Bhatti Vikramarka were on their way to the grounds in Secunderabad to participate in the I-day celebrations. As they were nearing the venue, the traffic police stopped the convoy abruptly. Even as the trio wondered as to what was happening, the DGP’s convoy rushed down the road. Vikramarka, who took a serious view of the violation, asked chief secretary SV Prasad to examine the matter and submit a report. As per protocol, the Assembly speaker and the Council chairman are given highest priority. But police who were monitoring security , cleared the traffic for their boss, as he was to receive CM at Parade Grounds.
