The socialist leader is living with his "estranged" wife Leila Kabir.

New Delhi: Brothers of former union minister George Fernandes have complained to the Delhi Police Commissioner about the alleged "illegal and high handed" behaviour of the security personnel provided to the ailing leader.

"When we went to visit Mr George Fernandes two times at about 12 noon and 5 PM respectively, we were flatly refused entry by one person identifying himself as PSO Jagdish Prasad and another person identifying himself as PSO Mitten, claiming they has been asked to do so by Ms Leila Kabir," Richard Fernandes and Michael Fernandes said in their complaint. The 78-year old ailing socialist leader is said to be living with his "estranged" wife Leila Kabir at a house in Greater Kailash here.

The brothers alleged the Delhi police security personnel "actively sabotaged" their attempts to meet, attend and take their brother George Fernandes for a drive, "under instructions" from his wife.

"This was against the express wishes of our brother. There cannot be any threat perception that Mr George Fernandes can have from his brothers," they said.

The brothers requested "immediate" attention of the Delhi Police Commissioner to ensure that security personnel do not "abuse" their position and become "tools" in the hands of Leila Kabir.
