BANGALORE: A police constable and his kin are facing charges of dowry harassment and murder after his wife was found dead in a house in Thalaghattapura police limits on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Pushpa Kumari (25). Her father has filed cases of dowry harassment and murder against her husband Kantharaj and others.Police said Pushpa had gotten married to Kantharaj - a police constable working with Jayanagar police station - three years ago.They were living in Shakhambari Nagar near Banashankari. Allegedly, Kantharaj and his parents used to harass Pushpa to bring more dowry. Also, he had an extramarital affair with one Saraswathi. Pushpa was dejected because of these things. Police said Kantharaj, his sister Yashoda and their brothers were absconding.Kantharaj has taken his twoyear- old son too with him.
