HYDERABAD: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will begin its preliminary inquiry into the assets of former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and 12 others for which it received a direction from the AP High Court recently.According to CBI sources, the preliminary inquiry vide PE 7/2011 was registered on Saturday. The High Court gave the direction to the CBI for the preliminary inquiry acting on a petition filed by YSR Congress honorary president YS Vijayamma. In her petition, she named 13 respondents, including Naidu.Her contention was that the respondents had amassed huge wealth through questionable methods and urged the court to order a CBI inquiry.Meanwhile, Naidu, his family members and other respondents are set to move the High Court on Monday by filing a vacation petition for withdrawal of the order directing the CBI to inquire into their assets.
