New Delhi: The Indian Institutes of Management opened the registration window of the Common Entrance Test (CAT 2013) on Monday. The registration window will be open from August 5 to September 26, 2013. This year the CAT aspirants can also buy vouchers online directly from IIMs.
CAT 2013 will be conducted over a period of 20 days, from October 16 to November 11, 2013, in Prometric test centers across 40 cities. The results will be announced on January 14, 2014.
Candidates can also purchase traditional vouchers for registration and scheduling from designated Axis Bank branches from August 5 to September 24. Details of the designated Axis bank branches can be obtained from the website www.cat2013.iimidr.ac.in or www.prometric.com.
Details about payment of fees online will be made available on CAT 2013 website www.cat2013.iimidr.ac.in from 5 pm on Saturday, August 3, 2013.
Similar to last year's exam, the CAT 2013 will have two sections. The first section will focus on 'Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation' while the second on 'Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning'.
CAT enables students to get into the most prestigious B-school in the country. Other than IIMs, most of the top B-school in the country accepts CAT scores to enable admissions to students.
The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) were established by the Government of India, starting from the early 1960s as national school of excellence in Management Sciences. Currently there are 13 IIMs named as IIMs Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta, Indore, Kashipur, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Raipur, Ranchi, Rohtak, Shillong, Tiruchirappalli and Udaipur.
Prometric Testing Private Limited (Prometric India) has partnered with the IIMs to deliver the CAT examination since 2009.
