New Delhi: The Cabinet is set to to pass the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Bill aimed at protecting women against sexual harassment at workplaces on Thursday. The bill will also include domestic workers and the workplace will be defined to include the unorganised sectors as well.
The bill will make it mandatory for an employer to set up an internal committee to probe a complaint filed by a worker. However, to prevent any misuse, the bill does not provide for monetary compensation or an out-of-court settlement.
The cabinet is likely to clear amendments to the bill on Thursday. The bill proposes to bring domestic workers under the ambit of the legislation.
