Bus falls into gorge, 10 injured

BANGALORE: A private bus plying between Bangalore and Udupi fell into a gorge in Nelamangala police station limits in the wee hours of Wednesday. Around 10 passengers who were injured in the incident were shifted to local hospital. A private bus which belonged to Durgamba travels was speeding, when the driver spotted a lorry stationed in the middle of the road near Mahadevapura. Unable to control as the bus was too close to the parked lorry, the bus driver applied brakes suddenly. The bus skidded into a nearby 15 feet gorge, police added.The bus was lifted with the help of two cranes. Nelamangala rural police has registered a case against the lorry driver and are investigating.
