SHIMOGA: As part of its raids on the properties belonging to former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials conducted searches on the residence of his daughter S Y Arunadevi here on Wednesday where they recovered some valuable documents pertaining to the illegal mining scam.Following the CBI filing an FIR against Yeddyrappa, his sons BY Raghavendra and BY Vijayendra and son-in-law R N Sohan Kumar, a team of six CBI officials conducted a seven-hour search at “Mythri Nivas”, the residence, from 7:30 in the morning till 2:30 pm, which was earlier sealed.CBI officials took Arunadevi’s husband Uday Kumar to the State Bank of Mysore branch office on Ring Road and Syndicate Bank on BH Road to search bank lockers and verify documents.Rumours had it that the CBI officials also conducted raids on PESIT college, a house and a farmhouse at Shikaripur.As soon as news about the supposed raid spread, supporters of the former chief minister thronged the spot only to know that such developments did not take place. The CBI officials did not disclose any information to the media as they left the residence after the raid.Reacting to the raid, Arunadevi told the media that a team of six CBI officials entered their house at 7.30 am. “They produced a search warrant before conducting the search. We have answered their queries. CBI officials did not pressure us."
