CHENNAI: A two-and-half-year old boy, who was abducted while playing in front of his house in Tondiarpet, was rescued and the kidnapper arrested on Tuesday. The case has been transferred to the central crime branch for further investigation. Police said, Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) employee Srinivasan, in his complaint lodged at the Tondiarpet police station, alleged that his son S Motheeswaran went missing while he was playing in front of their house around 2.30 pm on Tuesday. Registering a case, a special police team launched a search for the missing boy and found him with a stranger at the Broadway bus stand. The team arrested the kidnapper, who was identified as G Kumarapandian (28) of Cheyyur Taluk in Kancheepuram district. The case has been transferred to CCB for further probe.
