Kolkata: Chaotic scenes played out at an IT hub at New Town area of Kolkata city after a bomb scare on Wednesday.
Though it turned out to be a hoax call but there was confusion galore after a telephone call came, saying that there was a bomb at the ground floor of the building.
The office building had to be immediately evacuated and the bomb squad reached the spot. In a bid to handle the confusion police even broke into a scuffle with a few journalists, who came to report the incident.
In a another similar incident, an empty box lying outside the domestic terminal of the NSCB International Airport in Kolkata on Wednesday triggered a bomb scare, airport sources said.
CISF personnel rushed to the spot after sighting the thermocol box in front of the terminal at 9 am.
Personnel of the bomb squad opened the box and found it to be empty, the sources said.
