BMC plays party-pooper for Liz-Nayar
Newly-wed Liz Hurley and Arun Nayar’s Indian leg of their wedding celebrations hit upon a roadblock in Mumbai.

New Delhi: After a much-hyped arrival at the Mumbai airport for the Indian leg of their wedding celebrations, British actress Liz Hurley and Indian industrialist Arun Nayar’s party hit upon a roadblock in Mumbai.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) demolished an illegal extension built by industrialists Godrej to accommodate a party for the newly-wed couple.

The Corporation said the illegal extension for the party was encroaching upon Juhu beach.

But the couple is perhaps not worried since they have yet another wedding to look forward to in Rajasthan.

As the Umaid Bhawan Palace Hotel in Jodhpur gets ready to host Liz-Nayar’s second gala wedding, the building is being decked up with lots of flowers and special lights to give one a feeling of Diwali.

The couple and the guests are likely to reach Jodhpur on March 7 and are to marry the same night in the lawns of Umaid Bhavan Palace.

While 347 rooms and suites of Umaid Bhavan have been booked for family and friends, the newly-weds would be guests of the royal family in their private quarters.

The next afternoon features parties at nearby forts and a final bash in Mehrangarh Fort on March 9 in Jodhpur will wrap up the wedding spread.

Close friends Elton John, Hugh Grant, David and Victoria Beckham are expected in Jodhpur for the big day.
