HYDERABAD: The BJP state committee has decided to implement a four-point strategy to strengthen its district units in the state.According to the new strategy, the party will intensify the Telangana movement, re-launch the Jai Andhra movement in all the costal sistricts, focus on people’s grievances in the Rayalaseema region and win the support of the settlers in the state capital. As far as the state capital is concerned, the party directed its Greater Hyderabad city unit to take up special programmes to win over the `settlers’ in the city. The three-day meeting of the extended state committee was attended by all senior leaders including district unit presidents and general secretaries, and organisational in-charge Vamanacharya. After discussing organisational issues, leaders from Telangana and Seemandhra met separately with state unit president G Kishan Reddy in attendance. The party’s coastal units were directed to re-launch the Jai Andhra movement from Vijayawada and to intensify it in a phased manner. Representatives of all other districts supported the decision but those from Rayalaseema differed. In view of their opposition, they were asked to agitate only over public issues.Kishan Reddy said all leaders should speak on the state’s bifurcation issue without crossing the party line. He also said that BJP would not allow any other political party to criticise other regions on Telangana issue. He also assured that the party was committed to protecting settlers’ interests in Hyderabad. He advised Telangana leaders of his party to play a more active role in TJAC to check the domination of TRS and its chief K Chandrasekhara Rao.
