BJD leader questions Sindol project

SAMBALPUR: Rohit Pujari, the Sambalpur district BJD president, has opposed the Sindol project. Pujari, who is also the Chairman of Orissa Lift Irrigation Corporation, seems to have felt the pulse of the people who have questioned the decision of Energy Minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak to go ahead with the MoU when his predecessor SN Patra had recommended scrapping the project.In a release, Pujari said Patra had notified that this project, if commissioned, would affect fertile land besides submerging villages in the districts of Boudh, Sonepur and Sambalpur.Demanding an explanation, he asked Nayak to clarify whether the Huma Temple and the people living along the project would be affected or not.
