Mumbai: People from the world of politics, business and entertainment attended the marriage ceremony of Amit Deshmukh, son of Maharashtra chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, with television actress Aditi Ghorpade on Thursday.
The marriage ceremony at hotel Grand Hyatt was graced by state Governor S M Krishna, Bihar Governor R S Gavai, Jammu Kashmir chief minister Gulam Nabi Azad, deputy chief minister of Maharashtra R R Patil, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray, Shiv Sena's executive president Uddhav Thackeray and other politicians from all over India.
From the corporate sector, Reliance Industries Ltd chairman Mukesh Ambani, Raj Kumar Dhoot from Videocon, Sunil Mittal from Bharati Enterprises, Zee Network chairman Subhash Chandra and Kumar Mangalam Birla from the Birla Group attended the function.
From Bollywood, film directors Karan Johar, Ashutosh Gowarikar, thespian Dilip Kumar and his wife Saira Banu, and actress Rani Mukherji among others were present on the occasion.
State Parliamentary Affairs Minister Harshvardhan Patil and Ritiesh Deshmukh, younger son of Mr Deshmukh and Bollywood actor, danced to the tunes in the baraat of Amit Deshmukh.
The wedding will be followed by a lavish reception on Friday, with President Pratibha Patil expected to attend the event.
