Bhopal: A local court sent Monica Bedi to two days of police custody in connection with a fake passport case.
Police had sought permission from Judicial Magistrate Dinesh Kumar Dangi to arrest Monica, who was brought here late on Sunday night from Hyderabad amidt tight security.
She was brought to Itarsi by train and later taken to the state capital by roadand lodged in a mahila police station.
Monica's uncle Purushottam Bedi and advocate Sudhir Batra were present during the hearing.
The former Bollywood starlet was presented before the court in the fake passport case on Monday afternoon.
Monica has to be handed back over to the Hyderabad Police on December 9.
Tight security arrangements had been made at the court premises in view of Monica's production before the court.
Abu Salem, his wife Samira Jumani and Monica Bedi had got fake passports made in the names of Danish Beig, Rubina Beig and Faujia Usman respectively in July 2001 from the regional passport office in Bhopal.
Cases had been lodged against the three besides Syed Abdul Zalil alias Shiraj Abdul and Baba Abu alias Kabir in November 2001.
Shiraj and Kabir, who helped the three get fake passports, are already out on bail.
