Andhra Pradesh State Backward Classes Welfare Association president R Krishnaiah on Friday threatened to launch a massive agitation if the state government discontinues the fee reimbursement scheme in professional courses. He accused the government of conspiring against the backward class students by planning to withdraw the scheme, which, he claims, benefits many of them.
Accusing the government of not properly representing their case before the High Court and the Supreme Court with regard to fee reimbursement in professional courses, he demanded that the government bear the convener quota fees also.
He also demanded for a comprehensive act on uniform fee structure for professional courses in the Parliament, opining that only such act can arrest the rising trend of education’s commercialisation.
