Six persons were killed and a youth was injured when their car overturned and fell into a gorge between Ojhar and Nangalwadi villages in Barwani district, police said.
The accident occurred when the victims were returning late last night to Nangalwadi from Ojhar after taking part in birthday celebrations of one of their friend's daughter.
The driver of the car lost control over wheels following which it overturned and fell into a gorge, police said.
Five persons died enroute to the district hospital while another one succumbed to his injuries later, they said.
The injured person was undergoing treatment in the district hospital.
The deceased were identified as Deepak (25), Neeraj (21), Rahul (24), Pramod (25) Kanha (25) and Mahendra (23), police said adding a case has been registered in this regard at Nangalwadi police station.
