India started the sixth day rather business-like fashion straightaway claiming a bronze medal in singles sculls final. Sawarn Singh finished his 2000m sculls in seven minutes and 10.65 seconds behind Iran's Mohsen Shadinaghadh and South Korea's Kim Dongyong, who got gold and silver respectively. On fifth day Dushiant Dushyant had won a bronze in lightweight sculls.

In double trap team event in shooting, Indian women won a bronze medal. In men's Eight final in Rowing, Indian men won a bronze medal.

In Archery India made a creditable start winning their matches. India beat Malaysia in compound men's team quarter-finals. Likewise, Indian women compound team entered semi-finals beating Kazakhstan. However, India lost 224-226 against Chinese Taipei in compound women's team final.

India beat Iran 231-227 in men's compound semifinal to enter final. India is assured of a silver medal. The 2013 Asian Archery Champions Abhishek Verma, Sandeep Kumar and Rajat Chauhan got a score of 231 from 24 shots. They got 15 score of 10s. India will meet South Korea In the final.

Trisha Deb has entered semifinals of women's compound individual event. Purvasha Shende lost in women's compound individual event. Sandeep Kumar lost in men's individual quarter-final. Abhishek Verma is through to compound men's individual semi-final.

In team events in shooting, India could not forge ahead for a podium finish. In 50m Rifle Prone team finals, Indian men's team Joydeep Karmarkar, Gagan Narang and Hariom Singh finished fourth. In 50m men's Rifle Prone Qualification, Joydeep Kumar finished 5th, Gagan Narang 14th and Hariom Singh 29th place. Indian women won bronze medal in double trap team event. In 25m standard Men's pistol competition, Gurupreet Singh finished 5th, Mahaveer Singh 17th and Samaresh Singh at 24th place.

In Cycling, in men's Keirin's first round, heat-2, Amarjit Singh Nagi finished 4th, whereas in heat 3, Amrit Singh came 5th.

In Equestrian, Ajay Appachu finished 6th in Eventing Individual Cross Country. In Eventing team cross country, Indian team of Sangram Singh, Fouaad Mirza, Mrityunjay Sinh and Ajay Appachu finished 5th.

In badminton world number 7, Saina Nehwal beat Iran's beat Soraya Aghaeihajiagha in straight sets 21-7, 21-6 to move to last 8. Akshaya Dewalkar and Pradnya Dabre lost in mixed doubles in tennis round of 32 match. Parupalli Kashyap won his match in round 32 in tennis. Sindhu, currently ranked 10th and winner of bronze medals in world championship in 2013 and 2014 and a Commonwealth bronze medalist in 2014 could not keep up her brilliant start and lost to Indonesia's Manuputty Bellaetrix, ranked 22 in a three setter, 22-20,16-21,20-22 after leading for much of the time in send set. She could have won in straight sets but allowed the Indonesian to tie 1-1 and subsequently lost a hard fought third set.

In Sepaktakraw, India lose 0-3 to in Men's team preliminary Group A match.

In Swimming, India has not been able to put up a good show so far. India's Pratapan Nair finished 6th in 200m Backstroke, Heat 1. Anshul Kothari finished 5th in men's 50m butterfly Heat 2. In men's 50m butterfly stroke event Anshul Kotahri finished fifth in heats with 25.67 .In 100 m freestyle heats too the performance has not been good in this games.

In Tennis, Yuki Bhambri beat Qatar's Jabor Mohammed Al Mutawa in straight sets 6-1, 6-0 in men's singles second round. Sanam Singh beat Alshetty abdulhameed also in straight sets 6-1, 6-2 in Men's singles round. In Men's Doubles, Sanam Singh and Saket Sai beat Minhyoek Cho and Jisung Nam of South Korea 6-3, 6-4 in Men's doubles first round.

In Women's Tennis, Ankita Raina beat Dulguujargal of Mongolia in the second round. The only setback that has come is the loss of women's doubles second round, in which Shweta Chandra and Rishika Sunkara lost to Japan's Eri Hozumi and Shuko Ayoma 1-6, 4-6.

In Sailing, in men's two-person dinghy, Gautama Upamanyu Dutta and Sanjeev Aroash Chaudhary finished 8th position. In women's two -person dinghy Varsha Gautam and Aishwarya Nedunchizhiyan finished 3rd position. Ramya Sarvananen came 6th in women's Optimist- women's one person dinghy.

In Boxing, India's Manoj Kumar lost to Japan's Masatsagu Kawachi in light welter weight 64kg division. It was a close fight but Manoj Kumar fell down couple of times and he was also warned by referee for infringements. Although Manoj Kumar came back strongly in the third round it was too late to make any difference to the ultimate result. Dendro Singh got a walkover and is through to last 16. Hopefully the silver medalist from 2013 Asian Championship will perform well and win medal for India.

Akhil Kumar also called the 'comeback' man after being away due to injury for couple of years easily won over Nepal's Purna Bahadur Lama in 60kg boxing category yesterday. The former Commonwealth gold-medalist was fully fit and showed no sign of rustiness while boxing.

India has won a medal in each of its outings in golf in Asian games so far. It is expected that they will do an encore in Incheon. Though they had a good start, there was a let up in between. They are placed 5th in team placing which is jointly headed by Korea and Taipei. Hopefully once they get familiar with the course their performance should improve.

India lost to arch-rivals and Asia games Champion, Pakistan in their hockey match in a fast-paced match. India had better of the exchanges but somehow lacked finish. Non-conversion of penalty corners also had added to the problems. Pakistan too kept pressing and scored in 37th minute in third quarter through a field goal by Muhammad Umar Bhutta. India finally could convert their chances through Kodagu boy Nikkin Thimmiah who anticipated well to trap a goal-mouth shot from left flank and scored the equalizer. With about 5 minutes left closing time Pakistan scored through Muhammad Waqas after a fine move from their left flank making the score-line 2-1. There was not much time for India to get an equalizer. India should be able to beat China and make it to the next round.
