New Delhi: Having received a lot of flak from analysts, reviewers and consumers, Apple seems to have resolved to offer its iPhone with a screen size comparable to what its Android competition has on offer.
Reports, citing Jefferies analyst Peter Misek, are doing the rounds claiming the next-gen iPhone, nicknamed iPhone 6, will come with a 4.8-inch display. In a note to investors, Misek wrote, "Despite still seeing risk to CQ4 and FY13 revs, we now believe better [gross margins] will allow Apple to skate by until iPhone 6 launches with its 4.8-inch screen."
This prediction is believed to be based on Misek's meetings with supply chain sources in Asia.
In the past also we have heard that Apple is exploring launching iPhones with bigger screens. Even if Apple has made up its mind to offer chunkier iPhones, critics believe Apple's pace of innovation has slowed since the death of Steve Jobs.
The 4-inch iPhone 5 launched in 2012 was the first to veer away from the Apple phone's 3.5-inch screen, which Jobs famously deemed "the perfect size for consumers" and had been used in every iPhone since the first iPhone device was unveiled in 2007.
Apple last month launched the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c with the same 4-inch display.
