Hyderabad: As many as 14 stalls set up by Pakistani nationals were withdrawn from the ongoing All-India Industrial Exhibition in Hyderabad on Thursday, a day after a protest, demanding the removal of the stalls. However, the exhibition organisers said that the withdrawal was not due to the protest, adding the Pakistani nationals handed over to them a letter mentioning their

withdrawal from the exhibition, popularly known as 'Numaish', which was permitted.

"They (Pakistani stall owners) did not give any specific reason for the withdrawal. They only informed that they wanted to remove the stalls and go back to their country," an exhibition official said, adding that withdrawal could be due to recent cross-border tensions.

On Wednesday, a group of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) activists staged a demonstration in front of the Exhibition Society office demanding removal of stalls put up by the Pakistanis.
