Ancient manuscripts unearthed

PUDUCHERRY: Nearly 200 bundles of ancient palm manuscripts were found near Porayur Amman Koil Street in Venkateswara Nagar on Sunday. The manuscripts were noticed when the residents checked the area that was cleared for making a road here on Monday morning. A few of the manuscripts were crushed by the earthmover used to clear the area. However, the residents collected and entrusted  them with Ranjitham, a leader of Mathru Sangam in the area.Ranjitham said she would inform the tahsildar and handover the manuscripts to Archaeology Department.
