The art of their presentation and imagination in the mixed menu, presented by Trichur Brothers (Srikrishna Mohan and Sriramkumar Mohan), disciples of legend vocalist PS Narayanaswamy and Neyyatinakara Mohanachandran, was scintillating, as they brought out the tranquility and grandeur of compositions, chosen for exposition at Krishna Gana Sabha. They commenced the concert with a Bhegada Raga varnam (Vallabha Nayaka) of Dikshitar and rendered, with great relish (Ninne Bhajana) in Raga Nattai of Thyagaraja, it was evident that a stimulating atmosphere was being created.Revealing the features for their liveliness, the brothers conveyed the facets and nicetics of music, when they explored Raga Amruthavarshini (Ananda Amruthakarshini) of Dikshitar with ‘Hindustani touch’ and torrential swaras with ‘Classical thrust’, singing with concern, for imparting quality of depth with their well developed imagination, both in Mantra Sthayee and Thara Sthayee. The Raga Reethigowla taken next (Nannu Vidachi Kadalakura) in Misrachappu Thalam of Thyagaraja, received excellent treatment, giving a refreshing insight into the Kriti, where Thyagaraja beseeches Lord Rama, for His grace, with absolute surrender.Thodi Raga alapana that followed alternating between the brothers with ‘Graha Bedam’ and the rendition of (Srikrishnam Baja Manasa) of Dikshitar, touching the intrinsic aspect of the composition, with cascading divinity, was a delight.Earlier, the composition of Papanasam Sivan explored (Ramanai Bhajitha) in Raga Mand (the afternoon Raga of Rajasthan),  revealed their penchant to dwell in the scalar details.Certainly this concert was an indicator of the potentialities of the duo, for crescendo performances, as they lived in today’s concert, to their name, in enveloping the listeners to experience the seminal aspects, which is the soul and essence of music.MA Sundaresan (violin) as usual revealed his extreme competence in ‘Parur’ style with his magnetic touch, while the duo’s father Trichur Mohan (Mridangam) extended unobtrusive, soft rhythmic beats.
