Soon a commotion arose and other candidates seized the ‘sample’ paper and found to their horror that nearly 40 questions bore similarities.The photocopied ‘sample’ question paper was a handwritten manuscript which heightened their suspicion. “Question numbers 131 to 170 bearing a total of 60 marks were found in the sample paper and examination paper. Dhanakodi claimed that somebody had handed over the sample paper to her at the railway station,” said a candidate Sivasankaran.Angry candidates then forced Dhanakodi to accompany them to the Collectorate where they informed officials about their suspicion. Incidentally, Dhanakodi revealed that her husband Senthil had accompanied her to the examination centre and that some strangers had given them the sample question paper.She was immediately detained for questioning. RDO R Sugumar, Tahsildar Boopathi and DRO S Ganesh grilled her. Late in the evening, her husband, who was initially incommunicado, was picked up and brought to the Collectorate for questioning.In a related development, a candidate Sureshkumar was detained near Harur in Dharmapuri district as he was found to be in possession of several photocopies containing sample questions that matched with the original questions.Meanwhile, in Namakkal, a police picked up Rasappan, a former assistant with the TNPSC.
