Akshay Kumar is conscientiously working his way to the top.

While the two Khans – Aamir and SRK are squabbling over the number one position there's one actor, Akshay Kumar, who is conscientiously working his way to the top. Probe him about the number one race and Akshay replies, "I'm actor and I'm here to do my job. There is so much work in the industry. I'm not part of any race here. Who has the time to think?"

What intrigued him into signing 8 X 10 Tasveer? "I have done over 120 films but nothing like 8 X 10. This is not a typical Akshay Kumar film. It has no comedy and less of action. For the first time I have done a supernatural thriller. I hope my fans have as much thrill as I had shooting it," says Akshay.

What was all the news about him being skeptical about the title of the film? "When I heard the title 8 X 10, I was surprised. I thought it was the size of a coffin but then I gathered it is the size of a photograph on the wall. Since my character in the film can see into the photograph and find out about the past, hence the title." he reveals.

Rubbishing the reports about him not getting along with director Nagesh Kukunoor on the film's sets in Canada, Akshay says, "I was not used to his working style and vice versa. He restricted me to do certain things. So the first five days were difficult for both of us. I was very irritated with him as he kept telling me not to over do things. But then I got used to his working style and we and hit if off. Amongst the most challenging things for me during the making of the film was working under Nagesh."

The promos show Akshay jumping off a cliff into a deep lake. Akshay recalls, "Nagesh took me there and said I'd have to jump off the 220 feet cliff. I had to follow my director's orders so I gave in. It was a thrilling experience."

His last release, Chandni Chowk To China may have not done well at the box office but Akshay has quiet a few of films set for a release in 2009. "After 8 X 10 Tasveer there's Sajid Nadiadwala's Kambakkht Ishq followed by Anthony D'Souza's Blue, Priyadarshan's De Dhana Dhan and Sajid Khan's Housefull," he informs.
