New Delhi: Businessman Vijay Mallya, who is wanted in India for Rs 9,000 crore loan default, was on Wednesday seen at an event in UK promoting a new Formula One car launched by his team Sahara Force India.

A relaxed Mallya, looking dapper in a suit, was seen with his two drivers Sergio Perez and Esteban Ocon in a photograph uploaded by official Formula One website (www.formula1.com).

The new car of his F1 team was launched at Silverstone.

Fugitive Mallya has been on the radar of the Indian agencies for a long time now and the government has been in talks with the UK government for his extradition over charges of multi-crore loan default by a consortium of Indian banks.

India on February 9 sent an extradition request for liquor baron Vijay Mallya to the British High Commission, said Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

Also, the Central Bureau of Investigation has submitted a detailed charge-sheet against Mallya and others in the Rs 1,300-crore loan default involving the defunct Kingfisher Airlines and IDBI, an official said.

The 1,000-plus page charge-sheet has alleged the losses to the public sector bank by virtue of sanctioning loans to Mallya's airlines without following proper procedures.
