VIJAYAWADA: The police on Sunday rescued a two-year-old girl from the clutches of an abductor by arresting a mason. DCP M Ravindranath Babu told newsmen that Koolla Kusuma of Tanerpeta, left her daughter Choornika at the house of her neighbour Yaddanapudi Bhavani while she was going to market.When she went to the house of Bhavani to take her daughter after returning from the market, Kusuma was told that the girl was taken away by a man who introduced himself as Choornika’s uncle.After a futile search, Kusuma lodged a complaint.On knowing about the abduction, city police commissioner N Madhusudhan Reddy formed special teams under the supervision of West Zone ACP T Harikrishna to trace the girl.With the help of the information provided by some locals, a special team found Choornika near the tunnel in Tanerpet. Karimsetti Satyanarayana (30), a mason, was arrested for abducting the girl.
