A swim costs lives of 2 kids

A brother-sister duo drowned in a lake at Moulali on Tuesday when they ventured into the deeper waters while swimming.

According to police, the deceased have been identified as Ripa Bai (11) and Rahul (9), residents of Shadullanagar in Moulali.

Around 9.30 a.m, the siblings along with three other youngsters went to Bandlacheruvu at Moulali to wash their clothes and have a swim. While swimming, Ripa and Rahul went into the deeper waters and failing to gauge the depth, started drowning. A passerby noticed the kids gasping for help but before he could help them, they drowned. He then informed the parents of the kids, Malkajgiri police said.

The family members and locals fished out the bodies.
