CUDDALORE: The news of former telecom minister A Raja being granted bail by the CBI court on Tuesday brought in a mixed feeling of joy and disappointment for his supporters. While DMK party members are overjoyed that the DMK leader has been granted bail and are planing a grand reception for him, they said CBI court’s clause that restricts Raja from visiting Tamil Nadu without prior permission is disappointing. When Raja had resigned from the telecom minister post after the 2G scam came to light in 2010, he was received with a warm welcome by the DMK at the Chennai airport. He was given a welcome at Kovai airport and later at in his constituency Nilgiris. This time too, his men in Perambalur and Ariyalur plan for a grand welcome hoping that he would visit home this week. However, the court order forbids Raja from visiting TN without prior permission. This had reportedly disappointed Raja’s supporters.Mugundhan, DMK general committee member from Perambalur, said: “When Raja resigned his minister post, thousands from Perambalur and Ariyalur went to Chennai airport in more than 30 buses to receive him. Now, the court put restrictions to him for visiting TN. But, whenever he comes to Perambalur, he will be given a warm welcome, that would be greater than the last time.”Sources said that Raja may want to visit TN by this month-end.
