BANGALORE: MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Department of Civil Engineering celebrated ‘Suvarna Sangama’, a unique Alumni Technical Meet of ‘Past Masters’ as a part of the golden jubilee celebrations here on Friday.Speaking on the occasion, former principal and HoD of Civil Engineering, A Krishna Sarma, said “You will get the best exposure in a growing department.Such meets will bridge the gap between the industry and the institution.”The objective of Suvarna Sangama meet was to contribute for a better curriculum development, to enhance placements, support the alumnus and increase research and consultancy.R Prabhakar, Head of the Department, Department of Civil Engineering said,“ This department at MSRIT has many firsts to its credit. It is the first Post graduate department, the first recognized research centre and the first private institution to get autonomy for UG and PG courses,” he stated.Dr K.S Rajanandam, Principal, MSRIT, Dr. Prem Swaroop Reddy, Professor and Dr SM Naik were also present on the occasion.
