BALASORE: A woman of Rampo village helped Simulia police nab inter-district bike-lifting gang on Saturday by laying a love trap. Police have detained seven youths, including three college students, and seized five bikes from them. Ashalata Nayak (50) of Rampo village here helped the police arrest the bike-lifters.The operation started after two youths snatched Nayak’s earrings while she was returning home on a two-wheeler with her husband on February 29 evening.She lodged a complaint with the police and hoped to get her jewellery back. Incidentally, she spotted the youths while they were recharging their cell phones in a mobile voucher shop. Once they left the shop, she approached the shop-keeper and collected their cell numbers. The woman then hatched a plan to trap the youths. She flooded the two cell phones with missed calls at regular intervals. When they called her back she spoke as a teenaged college student and lured them withlove within a couple of days of conversation.A police official said when the woman divulged her plan to nab the youths she was given a go ahead. According to the plan she called the youths separately to Kurunta market on the pretext of dating and identified them to the plainclothed cops.Police, led by Simulia IIC Bhabagrahi, Barik caught the youths who came on two separate bikes ending their dream date with Miss Missed Call.
