THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In the All-India Trade Test conducted in July 2011, under the aegis of the Industrial Training Department, 61.32 percent success has been reported in the state. Out of the 24,184 students who appeared for the examination, 14,829 students passed in 64 trades from government and private ITIs. In 2010, the pass percentage was 59.8 percent. Announcing the results at a Press Conference here on Tuesday, Labour Minister Shibu Baby John said that the pass percentage of the government ITIs was 66.6 percent. Out of the 7,872 students who appeared for the exam from Government ITIs, 5,521 students passed. From private ITIs, 16,312 students attended the examination and 9,588 students passed. The pass percentage of private ITIs stands at 58.8 percent. Kannur ITI, from where over 300 students appeared for the exam, achieved a pass percentage of 83.1 percent. Kollam Women’s ITI achieved a pass percentage of 96.6 percent.29 ITIs achieved 100 percent success. 12,536 boys and 3,349 girls passed the trade test.
