5 held for usurping property in Erode

ERODE: Five persons were arrested by a special wing of the police on Thursday following a complaint of realty fraud filed against them.  In his complaint, Balamurugan of Kesarimangalam, Bhavani, stated that his grandfather Muniappa Mudaliar bought a property from one Lakshmimudaliar several years back.  Later, some of Muniappa Mudaliar’s legal heirs sold their shares of the property.But, Balamurugan’s father Muniarathinam left some land to him and his brother Sureshkumar.However, some persons from his family allegedly gave the power of attorney to the land in their name to one Ganesan.  Last year, Ganesan sold the land to another person, Mahadevan. After a probe, the police registered a case against ten persons and later arrested Ramasamy (48) of Pallipalayam, his son Lakshmanan (30), Mahesh (53) of Kuruppanaikkanpalayam, Ganesan (50) of Namakkal and Mahadevan (35).
