NAGAPATTINAM (TN): Three Tamil Nadu fishermen were injured in an alleged attack by a group of their Sri Lankan counterparts while fishing in Indian waters off Kodiakarai in the district, officials said today.Fifteen fishermen of Akkarapettai here, who put out to sea on August 15, were fishing in mid-sea yesterday when they were surrounded by a group of about 30 Sri Lankan fishermen and attacked, they said quoting the victims.The Sri Lankans allegedly snatched the fish catch, mobile phones, fishing nets, GPRS instruments and other valuables of the Tamil Nadu fishermen and attacked them with wooden logs and knives, injuring three of them.The fishermen immediately fled the area and returned to the shores this morning. The injured fishermen had been admitted to the government hospital here.State Fisheries Minister K A Jayapaul visited them and enquired about their health.
