New Delhi: In a major turnaround on Thursday, the Pakistan judicial commission probing the 26/11 Mumbai attacks called off its India visit without giving any apparent reason. The commission was supposed to record the statements of the 26/11 witnesses.
India has, time and again, raised concerns about the slow pace of the 26/11 trial in Pakistan.
Although no reason was given for the cancellation of the trip, sources say it could be due to a special hearing in the case on February 4. Pakistan has not suggested any fresh date for the commission's visit.
A Delhi court adjourned till February 4, the hearing of arguments taking cognizance of the chargesheet filed by National Investigative Agency (NIA) against American Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) operative David Headley and 8 others including JuD chief Hafiz Mohd Saeed and Zaki-ur Rehman Lakhvi last week.
