1,008 coconuts to god for Sonias recovery

PUDUCHERRY: Remembering God only when needed is usual human habit. But Congress leaders and workers proved a different breed. They gathered here at the famous Manakula Vinayagar temple on Thursday morning to pay gratitude to him following their president Sonia Gandhi’s speedy recovery after surgery for an undisclosed ailment.Former chief minister V Vaithlingam, E Valsaraj, MLA, former minister Kandasamy and PCC chief A V Subramanian prayed to Vinayagar and broke 1,008 coconuts as offering.The Congress leaders and workers prayed and pulled the golden chariot of the temple for the speedy recovery of the party president, while she was undergoing surgery in an American hospital.
