Telangana saw two events on Sunday, the Hyderabad Liberation Day, celebrated at the Parade Grounds in Secunderabad, with Union Minister Amit Shah as the chief guest and the Telangana National Integration Day in Nampally, with Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at the centre.

Addressing the gathering at Parade Grounds, Amit Shah extended greetings to the people of Telangana and criticized the state government for not celebrating the day officially.

“The BRS led state government is not celebrating the Telangana Liberation Day officially eyeing on vote bank politics. The people of Telangana will teach a befitting lesson to it,” Shah said.

“The central government has been celebrating the Telangana Liberation Day officially with three reasons including to educate the future generations on freedom struggles, felicitating the struggle warriors and rebuilding the state,” Shah added.

Meanwhile, in the other celebration KCR unfurled the national flag and received honorary salute from the police

“Realizing the Telangana state is nothing but a lifetime achievement for me. The state became a role model to the country in implementing welfare schemes and development programmes from the day of its inception June 2, 2014. The country has been following the state accordingly,” KCR said.

Though financial problems and poverty surrounded, the country became a symbol to national integration. In an attempt to recollect the injustice meted to Telangana in undivided Andhra Pradesh.

“The combined Andhra Pradesh was formed in 1956 against the wishes of people of Telangana and the region has faced lot of injustice under United Andhra Pradesh rule,” KCR alleged.

He said that after formation of the state his government has completed the irrigation projects on war footing basis.

The chief minister also elaborated various welfare schemes and development programmes implemented by the BRS-ruled-state government.
