Indore: Madhya Pradesh (MP) routed Bengal by 138 runs here to gain the first outright victory of the season. Chasing 277 for victory, Bengal were skittled out for 138 on last day of the match. Ishwar Pandey was the wrecker-in-chief as he snapped up a five-wicket haul.

Sami Ahmed’s hat-trick in the match couldn’t avert the second outright defeat for Bengal in this Ranji season. This was the 100th Ranji Trophy match for MP captain Devendra Bundela and the remarkable show by his team made the landmark even more memorable for Bundela.

In Hyderabad, the hosts finished their first innings for 699 against Mumbai as the match ended in a tame draw. Hyderabad have gained three points on the basis of first innings lead. Mumbai had made 443 in their first innings, riding on the centuries from Hiken Shah and Rohit Sharma, but Hyderabad overhauled the total without much fuss. Akshath Reddy, Hanuma Vihari and Bavanaka Sandeep struck centuries for hosts.

In Bhubaneswar, Gujarat batted well in their second innings to deny an outright victory to Railways. Gujarat were shot out for 117 in their first innings and Railways made 308. In their second innings, visitors were in trouble at 252 for 6, but Manprit Juneja and Rush Kalaria cracked centuries to bail their team out of the quagmire.
