Actor Naga Chaitanya eagerly anticipates the release of his upcoming film Thandel, seen as his most high-budget project to date. With dedication, he readies himself for the role of a fisherman in this movie set against the coastal backdrop of Srikakulam (Andhra Pradesh). Its grand launch took place today at Annapurna Studios, and filming is scheduled to commence this month. The makers are targeting a summer 2024 release. Sai Pallavi joins him as the female lead in this promising venture. At the Thandel launch event, Telugu cinema stalwarts Venkatesh Daggubati (Naga Chaitanya’s uncle) and Nagarjuna (Naga Chaitanya’s father) attended as special guests. They offered their blessings to Naga, Sai, and the entire team embarking on this thrilling new project.

Thandel, an action-packed drama, revolves around the fishing community, drawing inspiration from real-life events. Naga Chaitanya joins forces for the third time with director Chandoo Mondeti, following their successful collaborations on Premam and Savyasachi. Sai Pallavi takes on the role of the female lead. Produced by Geetha Arts, Thandel is set for a multilingual release, offering the audience a diverse cinematic experience.
The team recently visited Srikakulam, engaging with local fishermen and exploring potential filming sites for Thandel. Notably, music composer Devi Sri Prasad and acclaimed cinematographer Shamdat, renowned for his contributions to Uppena, have joined the project. Allu Aravind assumes the role of presenter, and Bunny Vasu serves as the producer, adding their expertise to the film’s creative ensemble.
Recently, Naga Chaitanya appeared in a supernatural horror series, Dhootha, that premiered on Amazon Prime Video on December 1. The storyline centres on the possession of inanimate objects, unleashing chaos in the lives of those engaged in sinful acts. Alongside Naga Chaitanya, the series features notable actors Parvathy Thiruvothu, Priya Bhavani Shanker, and Prachi Desai in key roles.
