Happy Birthday Naga Chaitanya: A Look Back at His Journey with Samantha Ruth Prabhu

South Actor Naga Chaitanya is celebrating his 37th birthday and wishes have been coming from many of his fans. While the actor is well recognised for his exceptional acting abilities and as the son of Telugu superstar Nagarjuna, his relationship with Samantha Ruth Prabhu has frequently made it to the news. They were once upon a time revered as an iconic couple in the South Indian film industry but ended up getting separated from each other in 2021.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya met on the sets of the 2010 Telugu film Ye Maaya Chesave and have maintained a close friendship since.

At the time, Chaitanya was supposedly dating Shruti Haasan, while Samantha was dating Siddharth. Later, Samantha and Naga Chaitanya collaborated on another film, Autonagar Surya. Reportedly, the actors split up with their separate partners during this time.

As per reports, Samantha wished Naga on his birthday in 2015 through social media and the duo were also seen together at numerous events throughout that year.

Samantha and Naga Chaitanya have worked in a number of films together over the years such as Manam, Majili. They also starred together in the National Film Award-winning Mahanati.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya later on made their relationship official. In January 2017, they exchanged rings in a private ceremony in Hyderabad.

In October 2017, the couple had both Hindu and Christian weddings in Goa.

After being married for four years, the duo announced their separation in 2021 through a joint statement on social media stating that they were parting ways mutually. Samantha had also removed all her pictures with Naga Chaitanya from social media.

Currently, Samantha has taken a break from her acting career as she is seeking treatment for myositis and wants to solely focus on her health.

On the other hand, rumours are rife that Naga Chaitanya is dating Sobhita Dhulipala.

Earlier this year, in an interview with Prema- The Journalist, Naga Chaitanya opened up about his broken marriage to Samantha. He said, “Whatever happened in my personal life with my marriage, that’s very unfortunate. But I have immense respect for that phase of my life.”

Speaking about her life post-divorce, Samantha Ruth Prabhu told Harper Bazaar, “When I hit an all-time low of, well, a failed marriage, and my health and work were getting affected, it was like a triple whammy; boom, boom, boom. You know, people go down for far less than what I endured for the last two years or so.”
