This wikiHow will teach you how to switch your Spotify account to a Family plan using a web browser. You cannot use the mobile app for this, but you visit the website from your mobile phone or tablet.

Steps

Go to https://spotify.com and sign in if prompted. You can't use the mobile apps, but you can use the web browser on your phone or tablet.

Click the account profile icon. If you have an account image uploaded, this will display instead of the generic profile image and is in the top right corner of the web page. Clicking this will prompt a menu to drop down.

Click Account. Your account information will load in a new tab.

Click Change Plan. You'll see this under the "Your plan" header and you might have to scroll to find it.

Navigate to "Spotify Premium for Family" and click Select. If you're certain you want to upgrade to a family plan that offers up to 6 different Premium accounts for $14.99, click Select and confirm your choice. You'll be able to use your iPhone, iPad, or Android to add members to your family plan as long as they have the same address as you.
