How to Pair a Garmin GPS on Android
This wikiHow shows you how to pair the GPS for a Garmin device with an Android smartphone. The Garmin Connect app can make pairing a Garmin GPS simple, though they can also be paired using Bluetooth settings.
Steps

Installing Garmin Connect

Open the Google Play Store app. This has a white icon with a red, orange, blue, and green arrow in it that can be accessed from the home screen.

Type “garmin connect” in the Android 7 Searchsearch bar. This will pull up results relevant to your search terms.

Select Garmin Connect. This has black-and-blue icon with the Garmin logo in it.

Tap Install. The Garmin Connect will download and install on your phone.

Open the Garmin Connect app. You can access it from the Android 7 Apps folder or by tapping OPEN on the app’s Play Store page.

Create a Garmin account or sign in to an existing account. Simply enter your email and password to get started. If creating an account, tap Create Account, check the boxes in the top of the page that pops up, tap Next, enter your account information (name, email, and password), and click Next to finish setting up your account.

Enabling Bluetooth GPS Connection

Open the settings for your Garmin device. Simply locate the Settings option in the device’s menu.

Select Bluetooth. This will direct you to the page for enabling the Garmin device’s Bluetooth connection by checking the box next to Bluetooth in the Settings menu.

Select Search for Devices. This will let the device detect your phone’s Bluetooth connection.

Open the Settings app on your Android phone. It’ll have a Android 7 Settings App icon and can be accessed from the Android 7 Apps folder.

Select Connections.

Select Bluetooth.

Toggle the Bluetooth to ON. Simply tap the switch at the top of the Bluetooth menu page. The switch will turn blue when Bluetooth is enabled.

Open your Garmin device’s Bluetooth settings. This will pull up a menu listing all available Bluetooth devices nearby.

Select your phone on the list of devices and tap OK. It’ll take a minute before your phone shows up on the device once Bluetooth is enabled, so wait for it to pop up if it doesn’t pop up immediately. Once the Bluetooth connection has been made, you can open the Garmin Connect app and sync the GPS to your Android smartphone.
